A TEENAGE girl who made a hoax fire call on her mobile phone has had it disconnected.
Clearly it is a quite acceptable and legal measure that can be implemented at the request of the fire authorities.
Could this be the solution to ending the plague of mobile phone misuse by drivers?
Indeed, when we witnessed the first innocent person killed by a driver using a hand-held mobile phone, of which there have now been many, didn't the Government think to implement such a policy then, rather than the ineffective £30 fine?
The hoax fire caller was also "totally embarrassed in front of her friends" and "severely admonished" in front of her parents, to the point where the fire authority were "satisfied it won't happen again".
So what are we waiting for?
