BRIGHT pupils at a Horwich primary school should have no problem stopping traffic in their new high-visibility vests.
Youngsters at Horwich Parish Primary School in Church Street, tried the new bright orange vests on for size on Wednesday.
They will wear them when they go on class trips to the swimming baths and the cinema and now their teachers will have no trouble spotting them.
The 60 vests, which cost £6 each, were donated by Asda in Middlebrook after year six teacher Lesley Burgess wrote a letter to the supermarket asking for help.
She said: "We really needed something to make the kids more visible when we go for swimming classes at Horwich Leisure Centre and for any other class trips.
"It was fantastic when Asda said they would donate them.
" The kids love them and it should be a lot easier for drivers to see us when we want to cross the roads."
Sheila Adams, the events co-ordinator at Asda, added: "We thought it was a brilliant idea and our general store manager, Howard Morton, was thrilled when he realised we could help."
