IT'S the 25th BBC Children in Need appeal on Friday, and fundraising is well underway across the borough.
Here are just some of the fun events being staged:
A Bury landlady has vowed to shave off her hair if one of her employees can raise £1,000 for the charity. Suzanne Bennett, landlady of The Woolpack in Wood Street, Elton, has promised to go under the razor.
Barmaid Joanne Blundell has until 7pm Friday night to find the money and is calling for local people and businesses to give donations, by calling her on 07851 120869.
Pupils at Elton Primary School will be bringing in silver coins and hoping to spell out the school name on the hall floor.
A 10-year-old swimmer from Whitefield is hoping to raise more than £150 by swimming a mile.
Myles Morland, a pupil at Our Lady of Grace RC Primary School, has organised the challenge by himself, and will get into the pool at Castle Leisure Centre at 6pm on Thursday night.
Employees at PC World Business, based at Waterfold Park, Bury, will take part in a sponsored fire walk on Thursday night.
Fundraising will continue on Friday when staff are invited to come to work in fancy dress. There will also be an opportunity to ride the bucking bronco or sumo wrestle their boss. Throughout the day, there will be raffles, sweepstakes, manicures and head shaves.
Four Nat West bankers from Bury and Rochdale will be swapping their suits for trainers on Friday when they cycle 50 miles. Mike Clarke, manager of Nat West Rochdale, Chris Holland, financial planning manager, Chrissy Holland, business advisor, and Glynn Stoker, area sales manager, will leave Nat West in Littleborough at 8.30am to visit eight other branches, including Bury. For every £1 the cyclists raise, the bank will match it with money from the Nat West Community CashBack scheme.
Staff at Pennine Telecom in Salford Street, Bury, are planning a whole range of activities.
They will wear fancy dress to work on Friday, enter a variety of competitions, and see who can eat the most cream crackers in three minutes.
Alarmacar on Harvey Street, Bury, is challenging people to make the fastest lap time on PlayStation 2 game Gran Turismo.
The competition is open until 5.30pm on Thursday, and it costs £1 to enter, with all money going to Children in Need. As well as giving to charity, the winner will receive either an in-car DVD portable system or an MP3/CD tuner.
