I FOR one will not be driving to the tip with any excess rubbish (Bolton Evening News, November 14), due to this ridiculous two weekly collection service we have been lumbered with!
We pay council tax, wheel our bins to the front of our property like sheep, make sure our bin lids are not open due to the bin being over full, and do not leave extra bags at the side of the bin.
Before the change-over and up till today, I have phoned and requested a large bin to replace one small one, which was perfectly adequate. I had a lot of polite promises, but to date no new bin!
I have been told not to worry, an overloaded bin and extra bags would be taken until people are used to the new bin collections.
I was under the impression that our pleasant and polite bin men were not allowed to do this due to Health and Safety rules. Have these rules been suspended?
What a load of old rubbish (excuse the pun)!
