IN recent weeks Tyldesley has taken some stick regarding yobs and anti-social behaviour according to ward Councillor Keith McManus.
He acknowledges the town has a problem, but then again what town doesn't.
For one morning that all changed - Remembrance Sunday.
Cllr McManus said there were no off-road motorbikes tearing down the main road, no gangs of teenagers throwing fireworks, no teenagers causing damage and no setting fire to park benches.
People could say that it was too early for them, but he has witnessed all the above happen in the past on a Sunday morning.
Instead the only sign of a teenager was at Tyldesley Cemetery, along with countless other people who took the time and effort to attend the service. He was delighted to see young and old standing side by side to show their respects for our war dead.
Now Cllr McManus, who says there were more people present than last year, would like to thank everyone who attended,
On Sunday he was proud to be one of the Tyldesley's councillors.
Thanks too must surely go to everyone who turned out for the 60th anniversary parades and services throughout the area.
