Wanderers have dismissed claims that they are chasing the signature of the so-called Australian whizz-kid, Panos Armenakas.

Reports originating in Sydney, claim Wanderers are keen on the seven-year-old, who recently spent a week training with Barcelona and is supposedly attracting the interest of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Wanderers academy director, Chris Sulley, has arranged for the boy to visit the Reebok while in England on holiday next month, but has played down reports that earmarked him future Bolton star.

Wanderers' spokesman, Danny Reuben, said: "Chris was in Sydney, where he has a lot of contacts, looking at soccer schools and was approached by the boy's father, who asked if he could visit the Reebok during the family's holiday.

"Chris told him he could visit the training ground to get a bit of an understanding of how a professionall football club works.

"We'll welcome him when he arrives, but we are certainly not paying for the trip."
