ELTON Vale dominated their BSF Over-35s League's Sam Ashworth Trophy second round clash with a 7-1 thrashing of Real Victoria.
Goals by Thomas, Rigby, Hulme, Clarke, Ferrier and two from Thompson ensured that Elton will be in the draw for the quarter-finals, with Worley's goal the only consolation for the third division new boys.
Also through to the next round are The Sportsman, who beat Dobbies A 2-1, but had to come from behind to progress in the competition.
A cracking Gary Burns free-kick put Dobbies ahead after The Sportsman had squandered several chances, but in the end the pressure told and Smith equalised before a late Walker penalty secured the tie for The Sportsman.
Division One high flyers Cross Keys needed a last minute penalty to see off Second Division Ainsworth A in an entertaining encounter. The game finished 3-3 at full time with an Andy Strange goal and Steve Browns two for the Cross Keys cancelling out goals from Kernshaw, Settle and a great over head kick from German.
The match looked set to go to penalties as extra-time ran out, but a last minute penalty gave the First Division team the chance to go through and Mitch Burke stepped up to win the game with the last kick.
Joining them in the last eight are De La Salle, who saw off a gallant Ainsworth B 2-1 in a game they should have won easily. A 20-yard drive into the top corner from Paul Norbury gave De La Salle the lead before Ainsworth drew level just before half time.
De La Salle dominated possession after the break but failed to capitalise on some good play and squandered a number of chances. A good move was finished off by Dave Chadwick to seal a narrow win over Ainsworth, who battled until the end and did the Third Division proud.
In a re-arranged Second Division league game, leaders Daten AFC beat third place Newmarket 1-0 to move four points clear at the top.
