I SUPPORT John Dunleavy's letter about buses (Bolton Evening News, November 8).
Some time ago, there was a bus service, number 401, which would take me from Bolton bus station to Oldham Road, Middleton, in one excellent journey, lasting about 50 minutes.
That service was cancelled, for whatever reason, yet it was well supported and almost always a full passenger load.
Now, to do the same journey means Farnworth to Bolton, Bolton to Heywood, Heywood to Middleton, and Middleton to Oldham Road, or a 10-minute walk.
It now takes one hour 40 minutes and more.
The journey is now difficult and time-wasting, and not in the interest of passengers.
