I DON'T in any way agree with Wanderers' fans who park illegally on double yellow lines or roundabouts on European match nights.
But I think the cynicism of club and parking officials over the matter is even worse.
Take Ian Taylor, the Bolton parking chief, who said: "We would have thought the bad weather would have encouraged more drivers to leave their cars parked illegally closer to the ground."
Well, unluckily for him, the fans resisted the urge to suffer further punishment from Mr Taylor and his over-zealous department.
His worries about "safety" act as a smokescreen to the real issue, which is the inadequacy of the club's parking decisions. It is not rocket science to realise that, if you build a stadium with car-dependent transport links, people need to park.
BWFC responds dismally by charging people £6 for the privilege of queueing for an hour after the game to get away, and state that already costly season passes are invalid "because it is a European match".
Am I the only one who can't see any sense or logic in this comment?
