A LEIGH man has been convicted of sexually molesting a six-year-old girl.
Andrew Tinsley indecently assaulted the little girl while baby sitting, said Ann Whyte, prosecuting. His behaviour took place around ten years ago but only came to light last year, when the victim told her mother what had happened.
When interviewed, 42-year-old Tinsley categorically denied touching the child in a sexual way, said Miss Whyte.
Tinsley, of East Bridgewater Street, Leigh, was convicted by a jury at Liverpool Crown Court of two offences of indecently assaulting the girl between November 1995 and November 1997. He denied the allegation. Tinsley was remanded on bail for sentencing on December 8.
