THE lighting of Horwich's civic Christmas tree will take place on Friday, December 2.
The ceremony starts at 6pm and will be followed by a short carol service at the Crown roundabout.
There will be a countdown to the big switch-on by the Mayor of Horwich, Cllr Stephen Rock.
Music will be provided by the band from Rivington and Blackrod High School, who will be supported by a choir from Horwich Parish Primary School.
A temporary traffic diversion will be put in place.
