OLYMPIC silver medalist and Bolton boxer Amir Khan will join boxer Michael Jennings to make sure Christmas in Chorley gets off to a knockout start.
The two sporting idols will be at a festive extravaganza to switch on Chorley's town centre Christmas lights on Friday, November 25.
The event, organised by Chorley Borough Council, will also see appearances by Hi De Hi star Ruth Madoc, The Bills Tony Scanell and Kenny Baker, who played R2D2 in the Star Wars films.
Thousands of local people have also signed up to take part in the annual lantern parade through the town which this year will be led by a 600ft community monster created with children of local groups.
