A WOMAN needed treatment for smoke inhalation after she tried to put out a fire in her home.
Firefighters were called to Keswick Road, Walkden, at around 11.10am on Friday when an electricity meter caught fire.
The blaze quickly spread to a storage cupboard.
Fire officers led the 45-year-old woman, to safety and gave her oxygen. She declined hospital treatment.
The woman's Springer Spaniel dog was also unharmed.
The house was smoke logged but the fire damage was confined to the cupboard.
