THE sister of a new father who vanished six months ago has appealed for him to come home for Christmas.

Peter Weber, aged 26, disappeared from his home in New Lane, Breightmet, in May this year - eight days before his baby daughter was born.

He has not yet seen his daughter, Megan, who was born in June, and his name is now on the Missing Persons Register.

Now his sister Jackie Blears, aged 30, has made a fresh appeal for him to come home for his daughters first Christmas.

"We want him home," she said. "It's his baby's first Christmas and he hasnt even seen her yet."

She said her brother had been under a lot of stress due to problems in the extended family. "He never talked about his problems because he didn't want to worry anybody," she said.

"Everything just got on top of him and I think thats why he left.

"I just want him to know that nobody is angry with him."

Since Mr Weber went missing, his family - including his sister and his partner Sylvia Curnock - have moved out of their Breightmet address to a new home in Farnworth.

The family hopes this new start could encourage Mr Weber to come home.

The family were given hope in June this year after a woman told them she saw Mr Weber sleeping rough at Eccles bus station.

The woman had taken Mr Weber back to her home in Westhoughton where she allowed him to have a wash. He then left and decided to catch a taxi to Leigh.

But despite further inquiries, there have been no further sightings.

Mr Weber and his partner had been together for 18 months and were planning to get married.

On the day of his disappearance, he was dropped off as usual by his brother-in-law Darren at CB Packers, in Bolton, where he worked in the warehouse.

Anyone with information should call the police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Mr Webers family are also appealing for information on 0770 495 5265.
