After a closely fought first half, in which Boro battled against the elements and a competitive Marauders team to slowly seize the initiative, Boro gave a scintillating display of attacking football in the second to record an emphatic win.
The early stages saw the home side strugging to make an impact against a compact Marauders defence and the visitors caused problems with some well worked moves of their own.
It was Marauders who took the lead after ten minutes when a clever near post run at a corner saw a firm header give Ryan McDonald no chance.
Marauders continued to test the Boro rearguard but good midfield play saw the home side begin to create chances.
Alex Nadler went close with a couple of good efforts and Mark Lester, who was becoming increasingly influential, met David Eccles' centre, turning it just over the bar.
Eventually, Boro achieved the breakthrough, as the impressive Rafi Leker burs through on the right to score with a fierce drive.
Within minutes Boro took the lead. Danny Acraman's corner was headed goalwards by Simon Glynn only for it to be pushed back out to him, his intelligent header back across goal finding Greg Davies who powered his header high into the net.
At the start of the second half, Boro tore into their opponents and had scored twice within five minutes.
Leker - whose accurate and imaginative passing was a feature of the half - put a fine through ball for Davies to crash home a tremendous shot into the roof of the net from 15 yards. Nadler then latched onto a loose ball on the left to score from an angle.
Just as the home side seemed about to pull away from their opponents, Marauders struck back to make the score 4 - 2.
However, Boro were now in top gear and their opponents struggled to contain a series of flowing attacks.
Good work by Nadler saw Eccles find space and slip the ball past the keeper for the fifth. Another fine move saw Nadler race through and give the keeper no chance.
Marauders refused to lie down and struck back when a corner caught defenders out of position and the ball was hit home from close range.
Marauders' tackling was becoming desperate and Leker was clattered just outside the penalty area.
Nadler exacted retribution bending a fine free kick into the far top corner.
Next, Eccles rose high to beat the keeper to a great cross by Leker and head the ball home. Glynn came close with a couple of good efforts which were blocked and had a goal ruled out for off-side.
Marauders pulled another goal back but were reduced to ten men as a player picked up a second booking.
Eccles completed the scoring with a diving header from Nadler's corner, the ball crossing the line just before the desperate keeper was able to claw it back.
