RADCLIFFE Boro manager Kevin Glendon is going into his side's forthcoming run of three away games in four delighted with the way his side have turned around their fortunes.
Boro came back from a goal down at Matlock on Tuesday to clinch a draw and have now conceded just two goals in four games after the manager tweaked his starting line-up.
Boro's position in the UniBond Premier table is still far too low for a team considered favourites by many when the season kicked off, but the manager is looking to build on the character shown by his troops since they slumped to the bottom of the league.
Glendon said: "I thought we played very well on Tuesday night after going behind to a penalty.
"It was a terrible decision by the referee but we showed plenty of guts and did very well to get back in the game.
"Ged Brannan, Lee Duffy and Matt Barrass were all excellent and helped us through after we lost Simon Kelly in the warm-up."
Skipper Kelly twisted his ankle prior to the game but is hoping to be fit for Saturday clash at Ilkeston Town (1.30pm kick-off due to the England international).
He should be lining up with Matt Barrass provided the former Bury defender suffers no reaction to his run-out on Tuesday.
And Glendon is unconcerned that his side are away from the Inn2gether Stadium so much in the next few weeks.
"I actually look forward to playing away sometimes," said Glendon.
"Team have to come at you a bit more, rather than sit back and defend all game like Guiseley and Whitby have done at our place lately.
"We have done very well in our last four matches and we need to carry that on."
Last season's top scorer Steve Foster is also back in the goals after finding the net on Tuesday with the leveller.
"Hopefully, that goal will give Steve a confidence boost," said Glendon.
"It's ironic because I was going to bring him off and then he popped up with a goal.
"Steve has a good record and shouldn't need an arm around the shoulder all the time to boost his confidence.
"He has proved it at this level and the fact that we only have two forwards at the club should help him."
The manager admits, however, that he would like another striker to supplement Foster and Carl Lomax.
"I am working hard to get another striker in," said Glendon.
"I am waiting to hear from Southport manager Liam Watson about somebody I want to take on loan.
