THREE film-making Farnworth brothers are to shoot their next movie in Bolton.
Chris, Dan and Matt Austin, who produce films under the name of Counter Clockwise Productions, hope to put Bolton on the cinema map by using entirely local talent in their next film.
Described as an "adventure-comedy-drama", the as-yet unnamed project is a far cry from the brothers' last short, zombie flick Bloodline.
This decision was based on a desire to bring the film - and the town - to as wide an audience as possible.
"We thought, if we kept the genre less specific, the film would be in the running for more film festivals than Bloodline was, which would naturally mean that more people could see it," said Chris Austin.
Bloodline was shown at the KinoFilm festival in Manchester, the Bradford Film Festival and the Fantastic Films Weekend at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, where it was nominated for a Delta Award.
In November, it will appear at Walsall's Novacon 35 festival.
Chris said: "We saw our next project as an opportunity to make a really Bolton-based film, with a Bolton cast and crew and, hopefully, funded by Bolton business."
The companies that the brothers are hoping to involve are family-based with a long-standing Bolton connection.
In return for financial aid, they would receive credits on the film, and the brothers are also considering product placement, using staff as actors and behind-the-scenes-insights to lure businesses in.
The brothers' close-knit attitude to film production has proved successful in the past, and with the new project, they are also opening the doors to University of Bolton students, amateur actors, and newcomers to the film business.
Having studied at Bolton Institute, Dan and Chris are eager to involve current students, providing a valuable opportunity for hands-on experience to complement the university's film courses.
"We wanted to spread out and get more people involved.
"We're not some inaccessible film company - we want people to feel like they have a personal relationship with us," Chris said.
