TEAMWORK between Premiership giants Manchester United and one of their Horwich suppliers has netted huge savings for the club.
Rigby Taylor, based in Crown Lane, supplies seed, fertiliser and chemicals to Old Trafford and the club's training grounds at Carrington, The Cliff and Lyttleton Road.
The firm and Manchester United both beneftted from savings made in the way that the products were supplied. With support from Envirowise, the government-funded environmental programme, improvements were made to the heating and lighting controls, spraying processes and transport efficiency.
The project has saved Manchester United more than £160,000 in the past year.
Brendan Gott, warehouse and distribution manager at Rigby Taylor, said: "The results mirror the strong partnership that has been formed between ourselves, Manchester United and Envirowise."
