The residents of Brookfold Lane and Kayfields have never called for the portable cabin to be demolished, they called for it to be re-sited in a more suitable place on the extensive land available that St. Brendans School is fortunate to have.
There would be no need to demolish the building as it is not a building in the normal sense of the word, it is a portable cabin.
It wasn't built on site it was delivered by a truck in four huge parts, hoisted by a crane and dropped in place all in the same day, so we surely have the knowledge to re-site it with out demolishing it.
The planning department received several complaints by telephone from the residents, and I heard a planning officer admitting it was three feet higher than on the plans. So a contravention had taken place. But yet work went ahead with all the drains toilets and services.
My main complaint is with the planning department. We have a right to complain about contraventions, and this decision has broken rules.
