A GROUP of elderly residents have proved that you are never too old to learn - by completing a computer course.
Tenants of Holly Court sheltered accommodation in Pimhole spent three months getting to grips with a word processing course for beginners.
Some of the residents had never used a computer before, but they quickly learned what to do.
Ellen Hendry, scheme manager at Holly Court, organised the course - which was a community partnership with Bury College - after a request from a tenant.
Laptop computers were brought into the centre's lounge in Pimhole Road so that the residents could take part in the course each week.
Mrs Hendry said: "Everybody did really well on the course and I'm absolutely thrilled to bits for them. Elderly people have a wealth of knowledge, and it's wonderful that they are still willing to learn and keep their brains active."
The residents were presented with certificates for completing the course at a coffee morning on Friday, which raised more than £100 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
