VISUAL and hearing impaired people in Bury now have a new one-stop facility to find help and information.
The Visual Impairment Unit at Whitefield Library, Pinfold Lane, has been extensively renovated and new facilities added.
Hearing impaired people can also now take advantage of the facility, as a Hearing Impairment Unit has been added, modelled on the unit at Bury library. The new unit has been named the Sensory Support Unit.
Bury Council's executive member for health and well-being, Cllr Tim Chamberlain, said: "We now have the accumulated expertise of both available under one roof, and this should bring real benefits for those with a hearing or visual impairment."
