LOTTERY fans desperate to win a cash windfall have been flocking to the post office that sold Graham Everall's winning £4.2m ticket.

The unemployed gardener, aged 28, of Marld Crescent, Johnson Fold, struck lucky when he bought a lucky dip ticket from the Moss Bank Way branch and scooped £4,255,018 on the EuroMillions Lottery in last Friday's draw.

Along with wife, Julie, aged 36, Mr Everall celebrated the win in London on Wednesday after completing a round of publicity appearances, including an appearance on GMTV.

Postmistress Sumera Hussain, aged 23, said news of the win has spread like wildfire on the estate and customers have been buying up lucky dip tickets in the hope that lightning will strike twice.

She added: "Camelot rang us on Monday morning to tell us there had been a big win at the shop but we'd already heard the rumours.

"The guy who won is a regular customer. He's always in here buying scratchcards. He comes in a lot with his two little kids. He's a quiet bloke and he's always very pleasant. Good luck to him."

Miss Hussain's brother Ricky, aged 17, who sold the winning ticket said: "We've had a lot of new customers coming into the shop. They all want to use the lucky lottery machine."

Neighbours and friends of the family said that the couple are still coming to terms with the win.

Kelly Roberts, aged 27, and her husband Sean, aged 28, of Marld Crescent, have known the family for the past four years.

Mrs Roberts said: "It couldn't have happened to nicer people but I couldn't believe it when I found out. Things like this don't happen in Johnson Fold.

"We've told them that when they move house they've got to invite us to all their parties."

But the family who were living on benefits before the win will not be left on their own to cope with their new found wealth.

A spokesman for Camelot said: "During the first six months after the win, a winners' adviser will contact winners several times to check that things are going well.

"After that we ask them if they would like us to continue contacting them or if they would prefer to contact us if they need to.

"The winners can stay in touch with Camelot for as long as they wish after their win."
