I have just read with interest your report on the lack of a Post Office in the town centre ('A special delivery in time for Christmas', Bury Times, September 29).
As a person who used this facility for work I believe the Post Office has been slow in their response to the closure of Forbuoys. They must have known in advance this was going to happen and should have had a new one ready and waiting to take over.
But I must pick up on the comments made by Councillor Wilf Davison about not siting a portable cabin in Kay Gardens which he says is a conservation area.
If this is the case why does the Councillor not put a stop to the fun fairs using Kay Gardens.
This is unsightly, extremely noisy and very dirty to say nothing about the damage their vehicles do to the grass and trees. And what about all the broken flags where these lorries drive into the gardens? They are very dangerous and a trip hazard. The whole thing should be sited elsewhere as it is totally inappropriate for our town centre.
I don't think we would have stood any chance of winning North West in Bloom with a monstrosity of a fun fair in our town centre.
