A MAN was hit in the face by flying glass after fighting off two robbers who smashed their way into his home.

The 22-year-old victim heard a noise outside the front door of his home in Hilton Lane, Prestwich, on Monday night at around 10.45pm.

As he went into the hallway, he saw the front door was open and two men stood outside.

They demanded his car keys but he refused and shut the door.

The men kicked the door, smashed a porch window and smashed the front living room window before making off empty-handed.

The victim did not need hospital treatment.

A spokesman for the police said: "The matter was being investigated and enquiries were ongoing."
