LIFE-long Donny Osmond fan Heather Jackson has finally got to meet her idol.
Heather (40), of Bolton Road, Bury, has been a fan of the former teen star for more than 30 years but had never met him until she went to 'An Evening With Donny Osmond' at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton..
Sales assistant Heather was one of the lucky few to have a Platinum ticket, which included a champagne reception, after-show party and commemorative gift.
There was also a four-course meal, during which Donny serenaded Heather and 700 others with his hits.
But for Heather the most exciting part of the evening was the chance to have her photo taken with the star.
She said: "I have been a fan of Donny's since I was nine and have all his records. It was so nice to meet him and find that he lived up to my expectations!"
Heather's £250 ticket was a surprise present from her husband, Michael, who managed to keep it a secret from her until the day before.
She added: "Michael does like Donny too but not quite as much as me so I went on my own. I didnt know anyone else there but everyone was really friendly and I had one of the best seats in the house, right near to where Donny was performing."
Donny, now aged 47, started his career as a member of his 1970s family group The Osmonds. Their hits included One Bad Apple, Love me for a Reason and Crazy Horses and Donny has released more than 50 albums over a career spanning four decades.
