WHEN I first moved to the Lowercroft area of Bury some 30 years ago one of the things that I thought attractive about the area was the two beautiful trees located in the Rose and Crown pub car park.
Sadly, some time ago, one of these was cut down for, apparently, reasons of car park drainage.
Now the other has gone, and this in spite of assurances that it was only gong to be pruned.
I have no doubt that whoever commissioned this act believes they have good reasons but nevertheless it is a huge loss to the local environment.
