I WRITE in response to C A Wilson's letter, Historic shop must not be sacrificed, on September 24.
The St Helena town centre development will be another one that leaves most Boltonians indifferent. Many people have become disillusioned by many council decisions over the past decade or so.
Another contentious proposal is moving Moor Lane Bus Station and Ashburner Street Market.
The proposed Market Hall refurbishment will once again mean fewer stalls. Surely a market hall is meant to have stalls, not be an indoor arcade.
One thing I have noticed on these developments is that neither designers nor contractors are Bolton firms.
One thing the council is now responsible for is the licensing laws. How can they complain about a drink and yob culture when they allow a town centre business that closes to open up as licensed premises?
People are getting fed up when the council blames everyone for this problem except the people responsible namely themselves.
