RADCLIFFE Boro have finally signed former Manchester City midfielder Ged Brannan from Accrington Stanley, writes Marc Higginson.

Brannan's signature brings to an end a long chase for Boro manager Kevin Glendon, who is in no doubt as to the qualities his new charge will bring to his side.

Glendon said: "Ged is a very experienced player and will bring quality to the midfield.

"He has played at the top level for a long time and he will certainly help our younger players.

"He has presence, is a good talker and I was speaking to (ex Boro striker) Paul Mullin who played with him at Stanley and he assures me that Ged was the fittest at their club."

Brannan also played with Tranmere, Norwich and Wigan and will make his debut in Saturday's home game against struggling Whitby Town.

Glendon added: "Ged's signing is a coup for us and hopefully the move will be beneficial to both sides."
