BOLTON'S Christmas light switch-on promises to be another knockout, with boxer Amir Khan lined up to push the button.
The Heaton hero will switch on the lights in the town hall square on Thursday, November 17.
The Olympic silver medallist will be the latest in a series of celebrities to light up the town.
Last year, the crowd danced as Tony Christie belted out his future Number One hit Is this the way to Amarillo? before Wanderers' boss Sam Allardyce flicked the switch. The year before thousands turned up to see comedian Peter Kay.
This year's fun will start at around 5pm with a Father Christmas parade through the town centre.
Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Barbara Ronson, said: "This year's is going to be a champion 'do' and we're delighted that Amir can come along."
