RAMSBOTTOM United manager Lee Sculpher is adamant his side can turn their form around after another two disappointing results in the last seven days, writes Marc Higginson.

On Saturday, the Rams were dumped out of the FA Cup by Vauxhall Motors (2-0) before being held to a 1-1 draw against struggling Atherton Colls at the Riverside on Tuesday night.

However, Sculpher said: "I'm confident in the players abilities and I expect to beat Curzon on Saturday.

"Having said that, it has been a disappointing week and I'm not one to make excuses.

"We were poor in the first half at Vauxhall Motors and showed no belief that we could win and, despite having the majority of possession against Atherton, we couldn't find the back of the net and we were always at risk of a deflected equaliser.

"What disappoints me the most, though, is the way the lads played in the second half against Vauxhall Motors. They were superb and it annoys me that they have to get a rollicking before they start to perform. It just emphasises the fine line between success and failure for me.

"They have to learn that they can't pick and choose when they perform."

Sculpher does, however, realise where the problems may lie.

"We have a lot of young lads in the side and we are lacking a bit of experience.

"We also have eight players out injured at the moment, which never helps but I have every faith in them all and I think that once we get a win, we will get a few."

In an effort to pep up his side, Sculpher is eyeing bringing in a couple of new faces to the Riverside.

The former Clitheroe boss said: "I am going to get one or two fresh faces in next week in time for our clash with Silsden next Friday.

"They will freshen up the team and take some of the heat of the other lads."
