IT sickens me to learn that a child's grave in Leigh Cemetery has been robbed of precious little gifts left by her friends and family.
Who could possibly be callous enough to lift windchimes and bracelets from the resting place of cystic fibrosis sufferer Isis Naomi Shaw, who died aged 12 on Christmas Day two years ago? Her devastated Lowton parents Mark and Dawn noticed the items were missing when they visited on Sunday
The bracelets, one from mum and dad and one from a close pal, were from one of Isis' favourite places, Shell island in North Wales.
Earlier in the year, wind chimes which were a source of comfort to her during her illness also vanished.
No wonder the family feels hurt that something so meaningful to them and their much loved daughter, but meaningless to the thief, have been lost
They can be replaced, but it's just not the same.
Cemetery services manager Tony Bassett has promised to try and find out who the culprits are. Let's hope he is successful and that they can be shown up for what they are, the lowest of the low.
