I WAS amazed to read the comments made by Bolton's most senior police officer, Chief Supt Dave Lea, in the Bolton Evening News (September 22).
He warned Bolton fans travelling to Bulgaria to behave themselves, as "This is a country where they take a very dim view of football violence and other crimes."
Presumably, reading from this officer's comments, the authorities in this country do not take the same dim view of football violence and other crimes that the Bulgarians do, which is a pity.
Hopefully all fans will behave themselves and enjoy the trip, but for those who don't, hopefully the Bulgarians will catch them and lock them away for a very long time.
