I VIEW the Central Street re-development plans as a cry for help for a dying town centre.
I have been a resident here now for more than 16 years. I receive very little from the local council considering the substantial council tax that I pay.
The two historic landmarks in the town centre are, of course, the town hall (surrounded by a concrete eyesore, an attraction for only school truants and vagrants), and the town's library-cum-magistrates / police station.
I would support the development of the Middlebrook complex; an idea ahead of its time which is unsurpassed by any other town in the UK.
I am not from the town, but by nature of where I live I am a fanatical supporter of Bolton Wanderers.
I would move elsewhere if things are not improved. Please move on, people of Bolton. The shopping centre of Bolton is yesterday. Middlebrook is tomorrow, with free, ample parking and little car crime.
