FAMILY and friends of Danny Jones, Bolton-born lead singer of chart-topping McFly, will be cheering him on at the MEN Arena tonight and tomorrow.

Nineteen-year-old Danny's mum Kathy, sister Vicky, nan and grandad, along with old school pals, will be among the 18,000-strong audiences on Friday and Saturday.

The last time McFly played the MEN Arena they were supporting Busted.

But now they have sold out all the huge arenas around the country and have their own supporting acts.

The sell-out nationwide tour started in Birmingham, with Friday and Saturday concerts in Manchester.

Other dates include Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham, three nights at Wembley in London, as well as gigs in Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast and Dublin.

Tomorrow, Amir Khan and his sisters will be with Danny's mum Kathy to see the band for the first time.

His sister Vicky, who used to sing with him when they were in Y2K, will be up on stage performing a duet with her brother at the Saturday concert and at the Wembley concerts.

The band already play a song she wrote with Danny called "I Don't Know Why", accompanied by an orchestra and pryrotechnics.

"I don't know what we will be singing yet but it will probably be something we've done before we will decide at the sound check. I'm really looking forward to it," she said.

Vicky is studying music management at London Metropolitan University and lives near Danny.

"Now he's passed his driving test he pops round all the time," she said.

As part of her university course, she has arranged her work experience so she can help the promoters of McFly's national tour.

Mum Kathy has been to all the gigs so far and attends as many as she possibly can. "I am dead chuffed for him," she said. "The tour has been a sell-out and I'm really looking forward to seeing him play in front of so many people.

"Amir Khan and his sisters are coming with us on Saturday, so that should be good fun."

McFly's latest album "Wonderland" topped the chart on its release and the Manchester shows will feature songs from the album.
