ARMED robbers wielding a machete and large metal wrenches have raided a Bury supermarket.
Staff at the Lidl store in Bury New Road, Sedgley Park, were attacked shortly before 8pm on Tuesday.
A man in his early 20s carrying a large metal wrench got out of a black BMW registration H695 GVU and grabbed the manager as he was locking up, and forced him back inside.
Two more men, armed with a large spanner and a machete, then got out of the car and threatened two other staff.
The manager was forced to open the safe and hand over a quantity of cash.
The men escaped through the fire exit on to Mather Avenue.
The man armed with the wrench is 5ft 10in tall, of slim to medium build and was wearing dark trousers and a black balaclava.
The man carrying the spanner was white, 5ft 9in to 5ft 11in tall and of slim to medium build. He was wearing dark trousers and a black balaclava.
The man armed with a machete was wearing dark clothing and a black balaclava.
