HUNDREDS of family and friends gathered at Radcliffe Parish Church on Monday to say farewell to teenage mother Lynn Savery.
The 19-year-old mother was found dead by her parents at her house in Chelsea Avenue, Radcliffe, on September 2. Her one-year-old daughter, Mia, was found unharmed in the same room.
At the funeral service, Miss Saverys stepbrother Sean Constantine read the eulogy and the congregation sang the hymns All Things Bright and Beautiful and Jerusalem.
A special song, chosen by one of her closest friends because Miss Savery used to sing it at school, was also played. A private service was held later at Overdale Crematorium in Bolton where floral tributes were laid, including one from daughter Mia which simply said "Mummy".
A statement issued by Miss Savery's family said: "Lynn's death was a shock to everyone and she will be very sadly missed by all that knew her.
"We have been through the worst few weeks of our lives and now that Lynn has been laid to rest, we ask that we are now given some privacy to grieve our loss and get our lives back to some sort of normality in order to provide stability for Lynn's daughter Mia."
l A 25-year-old man from Bury has been charged with Miss Savery's murder. Ashfaq Khan, of New Cateaton Street, has been remanded in custody.
He will appear at Manchester Crown Court on November 3.
