Readers may be unaware of a voluntary bereavement and loss counselling service which has existed in the North Manchester area for the past 26 years.
The service is called Care Concern, and is a free service to members of the public.
Referrals are received from hospital departments, primary care teams, general practitioners, Macmillan Nurses, and potential clients can also contact the service direct.
All the counsellors are qualified, have constant professional supervision, and are trained to a very high standard.
Bereavement is not the only form of loss we experience; it is recognised that the ending of a marriage or long term relationship, loss of a job or home, even the onset of a serious health problem can trigger a response similar to that of grief.
P
lease telephone 0161 796 0807 for further details if you would like to see a counsellor in a highly confidential atmosphere.
We are a registered charity, and our aim is to see clients for their first assessment within a week to ten days of their making contact.

Co-ordinator
