An addition has come in to a story Alan Calvert wrote about the old "Tin Trunk" cinema on Tonge Moor Road.
Alan Robinson of Horwich remembers the wooden chip shop which used to be next door to the cinema.
He tells us that after the cinema burned down, the chip shop did not do as much trade.
It shut for the war, and in 1944 was dismantled.
It was re-erected as a hen cabin on an allotment at the back of Wilmot Street.
