FRIDAY'S Bolton Evening News (September 9) read "Bolton at home is praised by inspectors" - you are having a laugh, right?
All that has been done to our houses is rewiring in 1985, and heating and double glazing in the 1990s.
I don't mind having the original kitchen cupboards that reach the ceiling, or the pull chain in the bathroom, but I would like some tender loving care on the brickwork and the roof. The gas central heating houses weren't even built when my family moved in, 48 years ago. Six years ago, those houses got new roofs.
So, councillors, stop patting yourselves on the back and give our houses some TLC. PLEASE.
