AS a middle aged driver, I am appalled at the blatant lack of respect for law abiding drivers on the roads these days.
On Tuesday of this week I met my wife for a drink at the Unity Brook Pub, Kearsley.
Sitting outside in the sun we were "entertained" at 5pm by four off-road motorcycles complete with no registration plates or tax, ripping up the main A666, in convoy with great noise, and pull on to the pub car park.
After consuming three pints of lager each of these louts then proceeded to give a display of wheelie riding, and other high speed passes along Manchester Road, before disappearing off into the valley to rip up the greenery. All in the height of "rush hour."
No doubt if any of these idiots had been involved in a collision with a "legal" driver they would have sat around waiting for the police to arrive.
Whatever happened to traffic police officers, perhaps the token speed camera near to the Unity Brook is the best we can now hope for.
