A DEDICATED newspaper paperboy has taken delivery of a new bike.
Thirteen-year-old Linford Steward, who works for Bennetts Lane News, Bolton, was bitten by a dog as he delivered the Bolton Evening News, a few weeks ago.
For his dedication and bravery, The Bolton Evening News, in conjunction with Halfords, have offered Linford a brand new mountain bike to carry on with his good work.
Newsagent boss, Mel Bawa, congratulated Linford on his award. He said: "Linford has been working for me for three months. He is very dedicated and helpful.
"He has a permanent round every day, six days a week plus last minute deliveries. I can always count on him.
"Linford is very experienced and knows the morning, evening and weekend routes really well. I think that the bike will be very useful," he added.
A second mountain bike will be given to the best of Bolton's committed paperboys and papergirls. Newsagents are invited to nominate their most reliable and dedicated deliverers later in the year to win the prize.
