HISTORY buffs will get the chance to hear about Bolton during the Civil War in the ideal venue of Hall i'th' Wood Museum.
Bolton Museums' learning and access manager David Edwards will give an illustrated talk on the subject on Wednesday, September 21, at 2pm.
A major part of the museum was built in 1648 with funds confiscated from Royalist estates in the area.
Mr Edwards, who has studied the Civil War in Bolton, will explain the role of the Earl of Derby, who was beheaded in Churchgate, Bolton, and the Bolton Massacre, said to be the only massacre that took place during the war.
Tickets cost £2 and can be booked by telephoning the museum on 01204 332370 or emailing hallithwood@bolton .gov.uk
