UK Online for Business has launched a pioneering new section on its web site where businesses can learn about taking payment for goods and services online.
It is hoped the facility, in conjunction with Scottish Enterprise, will allow smaller businesses to get their share of more than £1billion a month being spent online by UK consumers.
This web resource is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK, bringing together a comprehensive list of online payment suppliers for businesses to research. It also outlines the benefits and costs of the various electronic payment options currently available in a user-friendly way.
The site has a custom-built decision-making tool to help businesses find the best possible electronic payment solution for them. By entering business details such as turnover and average sale value, the tool generates a selection solutions and gives details on how to find out more.
UK online for business partnership director, Liz Grant, said: "With 44 per cent of UK adults ordering online in 2002 it is vital businesses get effective e-payment systems up-and-running as soon as possible. "
