A LARGE number of people rely on the work of Bolton Community Transport and Furniture Service.
So it is definitely good news that its future has been secured with new premises.
The organisation is having to move from its current Kay Works site to make way for the big development planned around Moor Lane and Hanover Street, and faced shutting up shop. Instead, fortunately, it will open its showroom in a few weeks in the imposing building that is the former Benjamin Topp pub overlooking Bath Street, with warehouse accommodation elsewhere.
The furniture service collects good unwanted household items to sell cheaply to people who need them, and its economical transport service works with a variety of local groups - often elderly and vulnerable individuals - to help them get out and about.
