FURTHER to your article on September 3 and J F Moorhouses comments on the deferral of planning decision on the development on Stonyhurst Avenue.
As a resident of Stonyhurst Avenue I agree with Mr Moorhouses concerns regarding the high density of the development, which is higher than Government recommendation.
The larger block of twelve apartments nearest to Sweetloves Lane is far too high at four storeys to blend in with the area and needs to be lowered. The block completely overshadows an adjacent property on Sweetloves Lane also several protected trees are threatened.
An electronic entrance gate is proposed on Stonyhurst Avenue, which was criticised by HM Inspector of Planning in a previous planning application. This could lead to severe on-street parking by visitors/delivery men unable to gain access to the site.
In my view this proposed development still needs quite a deal of revision before consent is given by the planning committee.
