FIRE crews have taken their fight to stop the closure of emergency fire control rooms to the Trade Unions Congress.
Uniformed fire officers handed leaflets to delegates outside Congress on Tuesday to highlight the dangers of replacing 46 emergency fire control rooms in England with nine remote regional centres.
A multi-million pound control centre in Warrington will replace Greater Manchesters Swinton call centre.
Fire Brigade Union General Secretary Matt Wrack said: "A vast amount of money will be diverted to a technology project which won't save a single life."
