JASON Swift completed a fitting finale to a Bolton League season full of runs when he smashed the individual batting record by reaching 1,797.

The powerful Aussie, who broke the record for the most runs in a game earlier in the season, hit 83 to take him past Brad Hodge, Lancashire's Australian batsman, who scored 1,758 when he was Farnworths professional in 1996.

Swift's total helped Walkden to 243 against arch-rivals Farnworth, but the new champions had the final say with a four-wicket win.

Mike Bennison hit 46 and Liam Jackson 54 in Walkden's innings, but Lee Childs, with 65, and David Tonge hitting 53 saw Farnworth home with 10 overs to spare.

Westhoughton, champions in 2004, completed a miserable season by their high standards, with a six-wicket defeat at Little Lever.

They could only muster 140-9, thanks largely to Antonio Mayers 50 not out, as Adnan took 4-40. That was never enough and Little Lever cruised home thanks to 77 from Lee Lomax.

Bradshaw, who, after a poor start to the season have finished with a flourish, picked up another win over Astley Bridge.

The home side made 195-8, despite 5-79 from Bridge pro Amil Dalugoda. Mike Ward hit 49 to set a record for the clubs highest runs in a season by an amateur with 1,061, passing the 1,027 previously held by David Morris.

Paul Rayment hit 66 and finished 22 runs short of 1,000 for the season. Ward and pro, Wettasinghe, have already passed that mark. In reply, Bridge were all out for 155 with Rick Northrop top scorer on 69 as Wettasinghe took 5-45.

Both wicketkeepers, Northrop and Danny Partington, had five victims. This was the second time Partington has taken five victims this season, another record for the Bradshaw club.

Heaton's miserable season came to an end with the basement club only recording one win.

Tonge set them 240-9 after Nisar hit 94 and Bob Waller 61, despite 6-77 from Hirwani. In reply, Bridge were dismissed for 140 with Michael Hobbiss top scorer on 43. Nisar took 5-67.

The match between north Bolton rivals Eagley and Egerton was full of runs, thanks largely to deputy pro Davendra Bundela.

The Darcy Lever professional, who played a key role in the Associations Trinity Cup success over the League, earned his money with a superb unbeaten 159 and shared in a fourth wicket partnership of 208 with Anthony Clegg, who hit 69, as Egerton amassed 276-3.

In reply, Eagley were 188-3 after Sidney de Silva (66) and John Conan (51) put on 100, but, despite 51 from Chris Lord, the total was out of reach and they had to settle for a draw. Bundela was also busy with the ball taking 4-53.

Greenmount blasted an incredible 332-9, but it was not enough to defeat a defiant Farnworth Social Circle, who hung on at 161-9.

Shetty top scored with 82, but the last four batsmen put on 70 in the last four overs, mainly due to a blistering 44 from Mark Stewart. Dean Eckersley and Matt Parkinson each took four wickets. Stewart then took 4-53 but could not finish off Circle.

Horwich ended their season on a poor note with Kearsley dismissing them for 84. Steve Woods hit 34 as Mel Whittle and Lee Proctor each took five wickets. Kearsley then coasted home by seven wickets
