The world-famous cancer specialists will supervise radiotherapy and chemotherapy facilities at three associate cancer centres.
A report, by Dr Chris Harrison, medical director for Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority (SHA), recommends Salford, South Manchester and Oldham with Central Manchester should become associate cancer centres while other local hospitals, including Fairfield General Hospital, should continue to provide treatment for cancer patients.
