A CAR stolen from Bury two months ago has been used in a bank robbery in Middleton.
The black Vauxhall Astra, which disappeared in early July, was used as a getaway vehicle by four men who stormed the Royal Bank of Scotland at 5pm on Friday (9) and threatened staff with handguns. They forced the employees to handover a substantial amount of money before locking them in a upstairs room.
The masked men were last seen jumping into the Vauxhall at the rear of the bank in Market Place. The vehicle, which had false number plates, was later found abandoned in Middleton.
