WALSHAW were presented with the Bolton Association title - and then showed just why they are the outstanding team.
They bowled out a strong Atherton team for 61 to beat one of their most highly-rated rivals by 103 runs.

Atherton's innings never got started and they were 36-6 before finishing on 61, Philip Williamson top scoring with 19 and Jason Whittaker taking 4-40 for Walshaw.

But their four lower order batsmen had other ideas.

Two more unsung batsmen, Phil Campbell and Brian Kelly scored 24 and 31 respectively, while John Fairbrother took 4-83 and Halton took 3-86 for Blackrod.
There was considerably less excitement at Adlington where there were just a couple of decent batting performances and Phil Donnelly's 5-29 for Elton to light up the day.
